Abstract:
Our intent is to compare simulations of sea ice concentration, thickness and motion as a function of simulated atmospheric circulaton. Since ice conditions are influenced substantially by synoptic atmospheric conditions, the degree to which models vary in their simulations, and the accuracy with which present day conditions are reproduced, are significant factors in assessing the likely accuracy of projected change in ice cover.
